Lynette Hopkin was a consummate professional. She was considerate, kind, modest, a very well-read lady with a great sense of humour and a first class all round musician.
I was fortunate to have been selected to serve in the WRAC Staff Band and during that time, I was given so much encouragement, tuition and guidance from Lyn.
The visits to her flat in Guildford were always a delight - she was interesting & fun too.
Lyn came to Scotland in 2002 to play the clarinet with the AEOLUS Wind & Piano Quintet. What an honour to have her play alongside me and the rest of the group to perform Mozart's Concertante for Wind & Piano.
Thankfully, I had a few chances to tell her how grateful I am for her input.
She will never be forgotten. RIP Lyn.

Lynette was an excellent clarinettist and teacher. She produces such a wonderful tone on her clarinet and played so musically. She was just one of a kind and a very special lady. Thank you.

Lyn auditioned me in 1978, and I joined the WRAC Staff Band in February 1979. I will always be grateful to her for the opportunity she gave me, to spend 12 years playing great music in a great Band.
